Welcome
The medieval "La Cité de Carcassonne" is one of the most visited and beautiful places in France, and listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Downtown Carcassonne, which is called La Bastide St. Louis, is the city centre where you will find lot's of shops, nice restaurants, bars and the centre square Place Carnot.
Next to the train station you will find the second Unesco World Heritage Site of Carcassonne, "The Canal du Midi". Great to make a nice boat trip in the shade of the beautiful plain trees, but also for some hiking or biking.
The region is famous for the Cathar Castles, the ancient Abbeys, the beautiful nature, The Black Mountains, The Pyrenees, The Mediterranean Sea and of course for the great wines.
It's a great location for a City Break, but it's even better to spend more time and enjoy Carcassonne and it's beautiful surroundings.
